Harry Keller, creative technologist.

I work on the intersection of development, design and strategy: coding, writing, teaching, consulting, public speaking.

Hello, my name is Harry, an open-minded, passionate and always curious person, bridging engineering, design and digital strategy, living in Berlin. In 2015 I founded my own digital agency called diesdas.digital where I build digital products and services with Lars Krüger and Lorenz Seeger. Yes, you can hire us to help with digital strategy, design, branding and development! Or at least follow us on Twitter. :)

Previously I was employed at 11 Freunde, Edenspiekermann and A Color Bright, working with big clients from a range of industries (e.g. Red Bull, ZEIT Online, Ableton, Carhartt, Otto Bock, Bosch, Red Bull Music Academy or FontShop).

People have described me as a design-minded developer, senior front-end engineer, strategist, project lead, scrum master, designer, copy writer and »the easiest person to work with«, but none of these cover what I actually do: I make projects work; with passion and by obsessing over the nitty-gritty details, but never losing sight of the big picture. I am a developer at heart, but I’m also the mortar binding several disciplines together: I understand business goals as well as user needs, technology as well as design. I guide the process of a project, keeping it together and on track, by contributing at all stages.

I work best in a motivated, talented team because finishing a big project, looking at the result and knowing one couldn’t have done it alone, is priceless. I see myself as a teamplayer rather than a lone wolf, because in a medium as fast-paced and diverse as the web, it is key to learn from others and share knowledge on a daily basis.

Talking about references I played a big part in the creation of websites and apps used by tens of thousands of people every day. NDAs prevent me from giving a full list, but here are some in which I had a leading role: ZEIT Magazin, Red Bull Music Academy Daily, Optivo, Ableton, Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, Schweizer Illustrierte, Hering, RBMA. I am especially proud of Optivo, Ableton’s website, Schweizer Illustrierte and ZEIT Magazin, since I happened to be the lead front end developer from Edenspiekermann and A Color Bright on these projects.

Currently I’m available for projects big and small with my team at diesdas.digital, as well as public speaking and consulting. So if you need a developer or want us to help with digital strategy, design/dev collaboration, responsive web design, hiring technical talent or the transition to agile, please reach out!

I enjoy sharing my knowledge through talks, blog posts and teaching. You can find some examples, in both English and German, at the bottom of this page. Oh, and just for the record: I am a Certified Scrum Master and have a B.Sc. in Computer Science & Media; not that anybody in this industry cares, but I wanted to mention it. In case you are eager to work with me, I would be delighted to hear from you – if you are located in Berlin, I am always happy to grab a coffee.

Live long and prosper! Harry
